My name is Anthony Piccioli. I'm the aggregates manager for a million-ton-a-year hard rock quarry in Wyoming.
I think the biggest thing that has changed our operation with using CWP liners was when we had a custom anti-slab breaker jaw die created. It really increased our uptime, as well as helped with slabby material coming through the jaw crusher to the surge pile — which has also increased uptime and throughput in our secondary.
We typically buy the 21% manganese crusher liners. Running in this hard rock out here, basalt and granite especially, we have a lot of issues with liner wear. Since we've gone to CWP, we've increased liner wear life as well as reduced the number of liner changes we do per year by one change a year, which in turn saves us about $25,000 per change.
We've been using the K-Flex belting through CWP for about eight years now. We specifically use it in the primary application, where we run an 8-inch-minus hard rock, shot rock. We had issues with puncture and wear on the belting in the past, and now that we've switched to the puncture-resistant K-Flex, our uptime has increased significantly.
The CWP guys have been great. I've met multiple people in the group over the years, and they're very prompt, very technically savvy, and they're not afraid to help out with a custom application.
This is a harsh, very nasty hard rock environment that's very abrasive and very sharp. Everything that we've used out here has proven itself. It's a win-win going with CWP — from the people, the customer support, the technical side of things, and the products themselves. They've been proven.
